LA Clippers' guard Chris Paul won't be playing on the court for three to five weeks due to an injury.

Despite the team's win against the Mavericks on Friday night, they lost a crucial team player, when he injured his shoulder halfway through the third quarter, Sports Network reported.

Dallas Mavericks' guard Monta Ellis tripped Paul as he was dribbling around and fell on his shoulder, according to the Associated Press.

Although it was first seen as a sprain, Clippers' head coach Doc Rivers later confirmed that Paul's shoulder had separated, from the fall.

With 6:43 left in the third quarter, AP reported that Paul was down for a minute before he stepped off the court to go into the locker room.

Paul put in a total of 19 points for the Clippers in the first half and his first five shots were three-pointers.

The Clippers will be playing at San Antonio on Saturday night against the Spurs, without one of their best players.
