Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn will be joining NBC to help as a correspondent for the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

The skier will work with the Today show during Olympic coverage this year as the Olympic Correspondent. She will submit daily reports on the Olympic coverage during Today.

While the Olympic games are going on next month, fans will be able to visit the official NBC Olympics Facebook and submit questions to Vonn, who will then answer them in real time. The date for this event has not yet been scheduled.

She starts in her new role for NBC on Tuesday where she will talk about how her rehabilitation is progressing. Ahead of the Olympics, Vonn will report for Today on how the Olympic athletes prepare for the games.
She will not be travelling to Sochi, Russia to report, but rather will be stationed in the U.S.

As previously reported, NBC's Olympic executive producer Jim Bell had teased in a phone interview about the possibility of having Vonn report on the Olympics as she had to drop out due to a knee injury.

That same injury also kept Bell from being anything other than vague about whether she will be involved because she wouldn't have been able to travel.
