Marquis Teague is saying goodbye to the Chicago Bulls and continuing his career with the Brooklyn Nets.
Although it may seem as if this is a huge loss to the 20 year-old player, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, it's a fresh new start for him, under better circumstances, due to the difficulties he had under the Bulls' head coach Tom Thibodeau.
“Yeah, it was tough at times,” Teague told the Sun-Times. “It seemed I was trying to figure out what he wanted me to do on the floor, and sometimes I struggled with it."
Despite his struggles, however, Thibodeau saw improvements and progression from when Teague first entered the league.
“I think Marquis is a good player. He’s a good young player,” Thibodeau told ESPN Chicago. “He’s had some good moments, he’s had some moments that obviously he could do better, but that’s to be expected. I think he’s much further along today than he was when he was first drafted and he’s done a good job overall.”
Last season as a rookie, Teague played in 48 games and averaged 2.1 points with 1.3 assists and 38% shooting from the field.
“This happens in this business, so I just got to move on and be ready,’’ he said to the Sun-Times. “It was time for something new.’’
