Jersey Shore may have a Spanish speaking half-sister coming its way. It has been announced that there is a Mexican version of the reality show in development with MTV.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the third international version of the hit show is so-far known as Mexico Shore and will premiere in September.
MTV is developing 13 episodes with unknown locations and seems to be highly anticipated in Latin America. The network originally created a U.K. version, Geordie Shore which took place in Newcastle, England and lasted for seven seasons.
They also developed in 2012 a Spanish speaking Gandia Shore based in Gandia, Spain and had nearly a million viewers. Their second season is also in development.
Jersey Shore ran for six seasons since its premiere in 2009 with a cast-turned-famed celebrates like Jenny “JWow” Farley, Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio, Samantha “Sweetheart” Giancola, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Mike “The Situation Sorrentino.
Despite the popularity among the television series, the shows finale in December with a rather small 2 million views, The Hollywood Reporter divulged.
