Elle has released four covers it shot for the magazine's upcoming issue looking at "Women in TV" and people are criticizing Elle over the Mandy Kaling cover.

While three of the covers feature all of the actress' pose, Kaling's one is a close-up and some people aren't happy and are seeing a controversy similar to the Melissa McCarthy cover flap, reports E! News.

Lauren Valenti of Styleite has said that due to The Mindy Project's openly known size 8, "it's not exactly the Hollywood status quo." The other issue noted is that the other three "Women in TV" chosen were Amy Poehler, Allison Williams and Zooey Deschanel are white, while Kaling is a woman of color, which is further exasperating some complaints.

According to Us Weekly, Elle released a statement defending the cover saying, "Mindy looks sexy, beautiful and chic. We think it is a striking and sophisticated cover and are thrilled to celebrate her in our Women in TV Issue."

The 34-year-old actress casually tweeted about the issue noting, "Wishing for more skin on my @ELLEmagazine cover? [Costar] Chris Messing & I are naked on a brand new #themindyproject tonight, ya pervs!"
