The Super Bowl is played on the football field but the advertising battle takes place during the commercials. The best of the best face off for the attention of fans for only a minute. Jaguar has already announced that Tom Hiddleston will be appearing in their commercial and Toyota has announced their celebrity lineup for the big day, the Muppets.
The 60-second spot will feature the Muppets teach former NFL player Terry Crews, and now co-star of Fox’s comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” how to “unborify” his life, of course all taking place in a Toyota Highlander, Variety reported.
The upcoming ad will also be supported by a huge social media effort. The social media campaign will be focusing on the Muppets as they travel to the Super Bowl at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.
Jack Hollis, vice president of Toyota Division Marketing at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. spoke about the goals for the Super Bowl ad, ComingSoon.net reported. "Our game-day spot shows how Toyota Highlander puts the 'fun' in function. Toyota vehicles are built to last and can even endure the most boisterous Muppets, a former NFL player as well as a center console full of chickens," said Hollis.
The Muppets: Most Wanted will be arriving in theaters on March 21, 2014.
