Amy Poehler’s hit sitcom, Parks and Recreation, will be returning to television for its seventh season, NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt recently announced.
Greenblat originally said that he was at first “bullish” of the future of the show, which debuted in 2009, while at NBC’s session of the past Television Critics Association tour. According to TV Guide, he eventually came clean and declared to a reporter, “I’ll go out on a limb, Parks and Rec is going to have a seventh season.”
The news of the renewal of her sitcom comes along with other exciting moments for the 42-year-old actress, writer, producer and former Saturday Night Live comedian. On January 12, Poehler won the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television comedy and hosted the event with long-time friend, Tina Fey.
On Sunday, she also got word that NBC granted her the good-to-go for a three-year developmental deal in which she will executive produce a comedy pilot with Dave Becky, The Hollywood Reporter, said.
Natasha Lyonne, who stars in Orange Is The New Black, is rumored to star in the untitled project playing a young woman who works with elderly people as an aide.
