The NFL draft is in May and it seems that there are certain individuals that want Johnny Manziel to keep playing football in the state of Texas. Tony Buzbee, an attorney and passionate Texas A&M fan commissioned a billboard in the Houston area which encourages the Houston Texans to draft Jonny Manziel with their number one draft pick reports ESPN.
The billboard reads “Keep Johnny football in Texas!”. It also shows a website at the bottom that reads DraftJohnnyManziel.com. The website was created by Buzbee which features an altered picture of Manziel in a Texans jersey. The intention of this website is to encourage Texans owner Bob McNair to draft the 21-year-old Manziel with their first pick of the draft.
NFL.com is reporting that Buzbee had the billboard put up in order to keep Manziel continuing his football career in Texas. Buzbee claims that in order to win in the NFL, you need a quarterback with strong leadership, a winning attitude and lots of talent. Buzbee goes on to compliment Manziel about his winning ways and unique talent. Buzbee also claims that college football had never seen a player like Manziel before.
Manziel is projected to be drafted in the first round, but the question now is where will he end up playing next fall? It is also known that Buzbee and Texans owner Bob McNair are neighbors, so it will be interesting to see if this has any affect on how the draft plays out for the Texans and if they keep Johnny Manziel playing football in Texas.
