Ramona Singer has officially filed the paperwork for a divorce from her husband, Mario Singer, on Jan. 28.
The couple has been married for 22 years. However, it’s been rumored that the reason for the separation has been Mario’s cheating.
“Ramona has been protecting him,” Jill Zarin, former star of Real Housewives of New York, told People. “She looked the other way when people told her he was cheating.”
It was said that Ramona had caught her husband with his girlfriend at their house in the Hamptons this past weekend.
“She saw him there with the girlfriend and made a big scene and called the police,” a source told People. “She did not want a divorce. Ramona loves her life. She loves Mario.”
Ramona took to her Twitter to thank her followers and fans for the love and support; however, she explained that she would like to keep the matter private for the couple’s 18-year-old daughter, Avery.

A second source explained, “She has been putting on a brave face for her beloved daughter who is away at college. She is her world.”
Ramona will return on Bravo's season 6 of Housewives on March 11 at 9 p.m. ET.
