With the impending departure of Seth Meyers drawing every closer, Saturday Night Live has announced that the current head writer will co-anchor Weekend Update with Cecily Strong.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Colin Jost will replace Meyers starting in the March 1 episode. The writer has been with the show since 2005, when he joined the writing staff. He was named head writer in 2012.
Jost has won a Peabody Award, three Writers Guild of American Awards and has been nominated for an Emmy eight times. He can also be seen in the upcoming film Staten Island Summer, which is based upon his time as a lifeguard.
Strong, herself has only been on Weekend Update since September as the show looked to find new hosts with Meyers due to leave for his own late night talk show Late Night.
Jonah Hill is due to host this weekend's episode, with Bastille joining as a musical guest.
Melissa McCarthy will follow for the Feb. 1 episode. Imagine Dragons will be the musical guest.
