A New Year's marathon of ABC's hit show, Shark Tank helped CNBC reach their highest ratings in six years.

The network announced its ratings accomplishment, explaining that their Shark Tank marathon drew in over 4.2 million unique viewers and averaged more than 540,000 total viewers. The marathon did extremely well from 8 P.M. - 2 A.M., bringing in 240,000 adults between the ages of 25-54, Deadline reported.

The 10 P.M. telecast of the reality show was CNBC’s most-watched program in the past three years.

The Hollywood Reporter added that CNBC had been seeing steadily decreasing ratings before the marathon.

CNBC will be hoping to continue their ratings luck when they launch Shark Tank Tuesday at 8 P.M. to midnight. More 24-hour news networks are in the market for different programing such as documentaries or reality TV in order to experience a spike in declining ratings.

The reality business driven competition, Shark Tank has been a huge success for ABC, the show is currently in its fifth season and normally wins on Friday nights for broadcast ratings. The show averages 8.4 million viewers.
