This comes after LeBouf plagiarized his short film "HowardCantour.com" from graphic novelist, Daniel Clowes. After apologizing by hiring a skywriter, LeBeouf tweeted several apologies that were not in his own words. According to Yahoo News , the apologies were boosted from artists such as Kanye West, Russell Crowe, and Eliot Spitzer, as well as Lena Dunham.
LeBeouf also tweeted that in the excitement of creativity, he forgot the proper accreditation to Clowes. He went on to say that copying and being inspired by someone else’s work is not the same thing- being that copying is not creative.
According to Oh No They Didn’t , the matter only got worse after Buzzfeed spotted the similarities between LeBeouf’s tweets, and questions on Yahoo Answers by a user named Lili.
The former Even Steven’s star has not made any other comments since his retirement from social media.
