During the subscription network's Television Critics Association panel on Thursday, Showtime is expected to announce that two new shows, Happyish and The Affair, will be given series orders.

Variety reports that though both will get 10-episode series orders, there hasn't been a decision yet when the shows will air.

The first series is a half-hour comedy starring Philip Seymour Hoffman and created by Shalom Auslander. Hoffman is also an executive producer with director Ken Kwapis. Rhys Ifans and Katheryn Hahn are both onboard to co-star.

The comedy is about Hoffman's character who is struggling to find happiness during modern times as his bosses are all younger than him and commonly use phrases like "digital" and social," reports Deadline.

The other series is a drama starring Ruth Wilson, Dominic West, Joshua Jackson and Maura Tierney. The Affair follows Wilson's character who begins an affair with West. The show is supposed to be told from both female and male perspectives and is supposed to look at the psychological and emotional effects that the affair has.

Sara Treem wrote and co-created the series with Hagai Levi, who created the show In Treatment.
