Showtime entertainment chief David Nevins spoke on Thursday at the Television Critics Association press tour about the next season of Homeland.
Nevins didn't waste any time discussing Homeland, jumping ahead of inevitable reporters' questions. "We were always headed for a major reset," he commented, notes The Hollywood Reporter.
The network's entertainment chief said that though the creative team of showrunner Alex Gansa and others have not yet produced an exact plan for season four, Nevins did offer up some tidbits. Homeland is focused around a field operative in Carrie (Claire Danes), but he admitted the show rarely has shown "her much out in the field operating." In addition, Saul (played by Mandy Patinkin) will play an important part in season four.
Gansa will be taking his writing team to the top floor of a CIA club in Washington, D.C. to see and hear more what it's like for people working there.
Showtime didn't spend its whole panel discussing Homeland, but also mentioned that series orders were put in for the Philip Seymour Hoffman comedy Happyish and the Dominic West drama The Affair.
