St. Louis Rams fans may start to push the panic button after the team’s owner has purchased land in Los Angeles.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams owner Stan Kroenke just bought a 60-acre site that was set to be a Walmart store, but was never built.

The Los Angeles Times has reported that the site could house an NFL stadium, fueling speculation that team will be moving back to LA.

On Friday, Kevin Demoff, Rams executive vice president of football operations sent the Dispatch a statement, which read in part,

"While we can confirm media reports that we recently purchased land in Inglewood, as a private company we don't typically discuss our plans for commercial or residential investments," he wrote. "We have yet to decide what we are going to do with the property but we will look at all options, as we do with all of our properties."

The Rams’ name has been thrown around as one of the potential teams that could move back to the west coast, however, there has never been any proof that it would actually happen. Now though, considering the owner’s purchase, this could be a substantial piece of evidence that the organization is LA bound.

The football team started out as the Cleveland Rams in 1936 and became the Los Angeles Rams 10 years later. After nearly 50 years of playing in California, the team moved to Missouri and became the St. Louis Rams in 1995.
