Starz's newest original program Black Sails debuted to decently strong numbers in the ratings on Saturday night.
The pirate drama's first telecast took in an average of 850,000 viewers on Saturday, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show pulled in 3.5 million combined viewers over the entire weekend.
Most of that number, 2.6 million, watched Black Sails when it aired and the rest used Starz's on-demand platforms to watch the show.
While the start for the Michael Bay produced show, it was not a record high premiere for Starz. The combination of all the viewing s across platforms, however, was a new high for the premium cable network.
The numbers might also be affected by Starz releasing the pilot episode for free a week ahead of the show's premiere.
Black Sails was already renewed for a second season before the show was even close to debuting. Starz has turned its focus towards original content and has several new shows yet to premiere, including Outlander, Power and Flesh And Bone.
