Action-movie star Steven Seagal is thinking about running for governor of Arizona.
For some time, Seagal has been working with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaoi, the man calls the self-proclaimed toughest sheriff in America, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He told the sheriff his thoughts about the possible political maneuver.
Seagal and Arpaoi have been working together on Steven Seagal – Lawman: Maricopa County. In the show, Seagal, 61, is a member of Arpaio’s posse, made up of 3,000 civilians. One of the pressing concerns covered in the show is border security.
This wouldn’t be the first time Seagal combined politics and martial arts sense. Seagal used his martial arts skills in order to open doors with Russian leaders last June. “Because of his black belt in karate and things, he's gotten to know many of the leaders of Russia, including [Russian President Vladimir] Putin, and was able to use that influence to make sure we got to talk to the very top people, so that we could try to find ways of expanding our areas of cooperation,” Rohrabacher, a Republican member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said to CNNReporter Wolf Blitzer.
