Ellen DeGeneres is making history by becoming the first talk show host to air on Chinese television. Her syndicated show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, will air in China within two days of its U.S. broadcast.

Warner Bros. and China’s Sohu Video have made a deal that would feature DeGeneres’ daytime talk show in an on-demand type format. Sohu Video is similar to the U.S.’ Hulu.

The Ellen DeGeneres Show is one of the most well-known talk shows in the U.S., and we believe it could also have strong appeal and relevance with the Chinese audience.,” said Charles Zhang, Chairman and Chief Executive of Sohu, Los Angeles Times reports.

Jeffrey Schlesinger, president of Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Distribution, noted DeGeneres’ clean style of comedy is what has “differentiated herself” from the rest.

DeGeneres brought up her deal on her show this week, reminding the over 1 billion people in China to visit her online store.

Variety notes DeGeneres will be hosting the Academy Awards in March, which her new fans in China can catch.
