New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady sat out of Wednesday’s practice.
According to the Associated Press, the Patriots practice report noted that Brady had to sit out because of an illness and his right shoulder.
However, the team does not seem at all worried that the quarterback will be out of Sunday’s AFC Championship game. Because of that, Pats fans should also not read too much into the star QB’s absence.
The team is set to play the Denver Broncos and rival future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning at 3 p.m. The winner will earn a trip to the Super Bowl.
New England beat the Indianapolis Colts to get to this point last Sunday in a 43-22 rout.
The Miami Herald has reported that the only other player to sit out of practice was long snapper Danny Aiken.
Brady’s backup quarterback Ryan Mallett filled in for him on Wednesday and reassured that there was no need to panic about the starter not being in.
"I'm not worried about Tom because I know Tom," Mallett said.
