On Friday the musical world has lost one of its shiniest and most precious gems- Phil Everly, one half of the rock ‘n’ roll duo The Everly Brothers. The duo was known for their outstanding harmonies that many musicians have tried to copy, but have failed. Their music has always been a source of inspiration for many and this undying influence on the music world that they had and still have, has resulted in many tribute records that have been released in their honor, such as Billie Joe Armstrong and Norah Jones’ Foreverly, The Chapin Sisters’ A Date With the Everly Brothers and Bonnie Prince Billy and Dawn McCarthy’s What The Brothers Sang. Phil Everly has died at the age of 74 in Burbank, California. The cause of death was complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. This Top 10 is our way of paying homage to the memory and contributions to the music world by the legendary Phil Everly. Check out our Top 10 The Everly Brothers covers in no order in particular!
