Back in 2003, Nate Ruess and Sam Means formed an American indie rock band called The Format. The Format created a mixture of indie, punk, alternative and folk music that slowly had broad appeal in the mainstream rock industry. Fans packed venues and supported the indie band but in 2008, the band announced a hiatus.
It wasn’t until later in 2008, that the band Fun. was formed following the Format hiatus. Fun. features Nate Ruess, Andrew Dost and Jack Antonoff. Fun. took the elements that made The Format popular and amplified them by 100%. Fun. released “We Are Young” and set the music world on fire with this catchy and modern rock ‘n’ roll anthem.
Fun has taken over the charts with hits like, “Some Nights” and “Carry On” taking over the radio and mainstream music airwaves. Fun is now enjoying Grammy nominations and a packed worldwide tour. TheCelebrityCafe.com is counting down the top five songs from Fun.
