Two mid-season shows premiered on Tuesday night to mixed results. CBS has to be smiling, since its Intelligence with Josh Holloway got off to a really good start, while ABC’s new Killer Women failed to draw viewers. Fox’s sitcoms also returned from their winter break to poor numbers.
CBS swept the night with 16.45 million viewers and a 2.4 18-49 rating for the night. NCIS kicked things off with its usual 20 million viewers and a strong 2.9 18-49 rating, notes TheWrap. Intelligence scored the one of the best premieres of the season with 16.6 million viewers and a 2.4 key demo rating. The night finished with Person of Interest’s 2.0 18-49 rating. The show drew 12.1 million viewers.
NBC managed a surprising second-place finish with 5.86 million viewers and a 1.8 18-49 rating, notes HitFix. Biggest Loser drew around 5.4 million viewers for both hours and a 1.7 18-49 rating, a season low. Chicago Fire had just 6.8 million viewers and a 1.9.
ABC had 4.99 million viewers and a 1.5 18-49 rating. Apparently, the network didn’t get out the word that its shows were back and Agents of SHIELD only had 6.48 million viewers and a 2.1 18-49 rating. The Goldbergs (1.7 18-49 rating) and Trophy Wife (1.2) followed. Killer Women provided ABC with another terrible premiere, drawing only 3.87 million viewers and a 0.9 18-49 rating. That’s worse than Lucky 7.
Fox also had a hard time drawing viewers, only averaging 3.2 million viewers and a 1.5 18-49 rating. Even New Girl couldn’t get viewers, drawing just 3.17 million and a 1.6 18-49 rating.
The CW’s repeats averaged 1.1 million viewers and just a 0.4 18-49 rating.
