The fifth season of Duck Dynasty is struggling somewhat as the second episode suffered a steep decline from its premiere last week.
The A&E reality show managed a slumping 2.9 in the important 18-49 demographic and 6.65 million viewers, reports Variety. The overall audience size hasn't been so small for the show since the second season finale in 2012 only averaged 6.45 million viewers.
Duck Dynasty had premiered to an excellent 3.3 in the demo and 8.5 million viewers.
Though the show slid 21 percent in a week and isn't doing as well as last season where it often managed to snag 9.4 million viewers, it still topped its 10 p.m. timeslot in the demo, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
A 2.9 rating was good enough to top all other competition. Duck Dynasty was actually number three in the rating for the whole evening, losing out only to powerhouse shows Modern Family and American Idol, which brought in a 3.4 and 4.0 rating, respectively.
