A Utah police officer shot his wife and children before turning the gun on himself.
According to the Associated Press, a police officer in Utah is believed to have shot his wife, mother-in-law and two small children before killing himself on Thursday.
Authorities went to the home of Joshua Boren, after he did not show up for his evening shift at the Lindon Police Department. Officers could see blood spatter through the window and once inside, they found a gruesome scene.
Joshua, his wife Kelly Boren, 32, son Joshua Boren, 7, and daughter Haley Boren, 5, were all found shot to death in a bedroom. His mother-in-law Marie King, 55, was also found dead in another room.
On Friday, police said that the couple was believed to be having marital problems, however, no suicide note was found at the scene.
The Daily Mail reported that the grisly discovery was made just a few weeks after the family returned from a trip to Disneyland.
Two days prior, another murder-suicide was reported in the same state when a mother shot her two daughters and then took her own life.
