This episode began with Neal helping Peter pack up his office, preparing for the move to DC. As they were packing Neal asked Peter for a recommendation, which would allow him to be without a handler, but Peter couldn't do it.
As they were finishing up, one of the evidence boxes began to ring, it was Rebecca's phone which someone was trying to reach her for a job.
Diana, just returning from maturity leave, wants to get back into the swing of things, but the others are hesitant to let that happen. They have her meet the target at the park, but the client only wants to meet in private so they start to walk to a new location. The client isn't convinced she is Rebecca, and asks a question, which Neal is quickly able to answer and gain his trust.
In order to find the new client who wants to hire Rebecca, they need to speak to her to find out a secret signal she uses. They bring her in for interrogations, but she knows they need her help somehow, so she makes a deal only if Neal comes to talk to her. Neal is hostile towards her, and says they are over, he wasn't falling in love with the true Rebecca, just the person she was pretending to be.
The client wants to steal a hard drive from a wealthy man named Beck. When Peter approached him, he quickly left the office with the hard drive. Clinton believes the drive has an illegal algorithm on it, which if the feds found out, would cause a lot of trouble. The team finds out that the client was Beck's employee until an SCC investigation in which the client was fired but Beck went unharmed.
Neal was able to get the drive by pretending to be the lover of Beck's wife. Diana meets with the client but he pulls a gun when he finds out the real Rebecca is in jail. She was able to get out of it, but the team realizes the text came from the prison where Rebecca is.
The team receives word that Rebecca escaped. Mozzie figured out the last clue to finding the diamond, and calls Neal in excitement. He leaves a message and unbeknownst to him, Rebecca hears the whole thing.
