Zach Galifianakis is scheduled to star in a new comedy developed with Louis C.K.

C.K. originally garnered praise at FX for his show Louie. He was nominated for several awards at the 2013 Emmy Awards for Louis. FX Networks CEO John Landgraf told Variety, “I think there is a consensus among TV’s most significant critics and commentators that this is the best show on television.”

In the new, untitled comedy pilot, C.K. is partnering with Zach Galifianakis. C.K. is credited as co-writer of the new project. This is the first deal by C.K.’s Pig Newton banner to go through with FX. Galifianakis will executive produce the new pilot with C.K., Blair Breard, Dave Becky, and Andrea Pett-Joseph and Marc Gurvitz.

The new collaborative effort from C.K. and Galifianakis is one of the many pilots at FX this season. The new shows feature some of the most popular comedians including Billy Crystal and Stephen Falk. According to the The Hollywood Reporter, additional offerings include Tracy Morgan's Death Pact, Denis Leary's Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll and the Charlie Kaufman comedy How & Why.
