Actor Zach Galifianakis is about to return to television. The former Hangover star will appear in a pilot written with acclaimed comedian Louis C.K.
The announcement was made at the Television Critics Association Press Tour today. Galifianakis created the project, although the plot is currently unknown. E! News notes that the pilot was written with C.K.
The two comedians will executive produce, along with Dave Becky, Andrea Pett-Joseph and Marc Gurvitz.
C.K. has a long relationship with FX, which airs his award-winning series Louie. In December, he signed a production deal with the network to develop other content with his Pig Newton and producing partner Blair Breard. EW notes that Louie is set to start its fourth season in May.
Although Galifianakis is best known for his role in the Hangover movie franchise, he does have television experience. He appeared on HBO’s Bored To Death, which ran for three seasons. He also appeared on Reno 911! and Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!.
FX also announced that Justified is ending after its sixth season.
