On Feb. 28 Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will be re released as a super-sized rated R version and will be in theaters for only one week.

According to the writer/director Adam McKay the cast had multiple jokes and takes when it came to each scene. “Every joke we did in the theatrical, we would shoot three or four alts to it and in almost all of the cases, there was another really good choice," said McKay.

The best of those alternative scenes have been resurrected for the new version of the film and will be featured on the blu-ray for Anchorman 2 which will be released on April 1st, Entertainment Weekly reported.

The re-release of the film will be over two hours. "It’s crazy long — about 2:20 — so for the real fans, this will be a treat,” said McKay.

Anchorman 2 already has made $125 million in domestic ticket sales and the box office numbers will likely rise following this release, The New York Times added.
