Anne Hathaway is in talks to join Robert De Niro in The Intern.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hathaway will replace Reese Witherspoon, who exited in January due to scheduling issues.
The Intern, a comedy directed by Nancy Meyers, tells the story of a internet company owner who builds a relationship with a retired intern that she is assigned to. Scott Rudin will produce.
De Niro is confirmed to play the role of the intern.
Though Hathaway has not confirmed, she did complete a table read with Meyers and De Niro.
Hit Fix reports that Hathaway will be seen next in Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, though her part in the film still has some secrecy to it.
"I think everybody wants to be surprised," Hathaway said. "And I think now everybody is actually learning patience with the Nolan projects."
Hathaway has also produced and played the lead role in the Sundance drama Song One. She plays an archaeologist who travels back home to visit her injured brother, and falls for his favorite musician.
