A Florida judge has received the request to release the video footage of pop star Justin Bieber’s arrest. A hearing is set for Thursday for the Associated Press and other media outlets to seek the release of the footage on the argument there is no legal basis to refuse them.
As we previously reported, Bieber’s lawyers have been fighting to keep the footage out of the media, for fear it could hurt his case. It also reportedly contains footage of the “As Long As You Love” me singer urinating in his cell.
According to Florida Times-Union, Bieber’s legal team has asked that a Miami-Dade County at least postpone the release of the surveillance videos, taken on Jan. 23 at a Miami Beach police station, so they can review it first.
Both Bieber’s lawyers and representatives for certain media outlets will present their sides in court on Thursday.
Bieber’s court date is set for March 3, where he will plea his case in the DUI, resisting arrest and driving with an invalid license case.
