Actress Bellamy Young takes a moment to discuss her character Mellie Grant on ABC’s hit show, Scandal.
Scandal is a television show about a White House Communications Director who exits the world of presidential politics to open her own crisis management film. Young appears in Scandal as Mellie Grant.
According to the Associated Press, the 44 year old Young said about show creator Shonda Rhimes, “Shonda went around the table afterward, telling all the actors what their story arcs would be for the first seven episodes. When she got to me, she said, `I think you'll be here for about three episodes,' and I heard her say something about `presidential divorce.' I'm dying inside, but I'm trying to smile. I'm Southern. I'm trying to be polite."
The show stars Kerry Washington, Columbus Short, and Darby Stanchfield. Nazanin Boniadi has recently joined the cast. Young, a graduate of Yale, has previously been seen in Franklin & Bash, Criminal Minds, and The Protector.
Mellie Grant is an important figure on the show and one to watch. Scandal returns on Feb. 27, according to The Hollywood Reporter. It airs on Feb. 27 at 10PM on ABC.
