Last night’s episode of The Walking Dead allowed viewers to find out what happened to a majority of the cast and characters from the show ever since the mid-season finale in December. The previous week the episode mainly focused on main characters, Rick, Carl and Michonne. This week beloved character such as Glenn, Maggie and Daryl were all brought back, although all separated. New characters were introduced as well and avid comic book readers will surely recognize the new faces. The episode really gave viewers a good sense of what is to come in future episodes of the show and how the characters all find one another and come back together to form a group. Here are some of the best moments from last night’s episode, “Inmates.”

[new page=Baby Judith rescued]
One of the bigger questions once the mid season finale ended and even during last week’s episode was if baby Judith had lived when the prison fell. It didn’t look promising for her since she was a helpless child and most of the adults were quite distracted during the attack. One of the first moments of the most recent episode revealed that Tyreese had rescued the two young girls, Lizzie and Mika and also Judith, who is strapped to his chest in a baby carrier. It was a big sigh of relief once it was revealed that Judith had lived. Especially after last week’s episode when Carl was so distraught over losing his sister.
Fairly early on in season 4, well-loved character, Carol, had been banned from the prison by Rick and viewers hadn’t seen her for a majority of the first half of the season. As a fan-favorite character, it was exciting to see such a memorable character return to the story line. The way in which she comes back is pretty awesome as well. Young Lizzie and Mika have been surviving with Tyreese, who rescued baby Judith back at the prison raid. During an intense scene Tyreese hears screaming off in the distance and needs to go see if he can save whoever is screaming. He tells the young girls to stay where they are and watch over Judith until he gets back. He reluctantly leaves much to the young girls’ dismay. While the girls are waiting, zombies begin to approach them and Tyreese can’t run back to them in time because he is trying to save more survivors from a group of hungry zombies as well. He hears a gunshot from where the girls were posting and then moments later turns around to see Carol with the girls and the baby walking towards him. All together it was an inspiring moment to see that Carol had saved the day and has come back into the story line.
[new page=Maggie and the school bus]
Another well-loved character, Maggie, is on the mission to find her husband Glenn after the two had been separated when the prison fell. Maggie, Sasha and Bob end up finding the school bus in which many of the survivors had escaped on during the raid and Maggie had believed Glenn to be on the bus as well. She notices that the bus is not filled with humans but zombies. In order to see if Glenn is amongst the creatures in the bus she asks Sasha to open the door and let them out one by one. Not seeing Glenn amongst the bus horde, Maggie steps onto the bus just to make sure he isn’t inside. She kills one remaining walker and collapse onto a seat half crying, half smiling once she realizes he was not apart of the victims who turned into walkers. The scene really showed her love for her husband and that even in the post apocalypse love is more valuable and important than anything. It also showed off Maggie’s impressive survival skills as she takes down zombies one by one as the leave the bus.
[new page=Abraham Ford]
Dedicated fans of The Walking Dead comic books were extremely excited when popular character from the comics, Abraham Ford showed up at the very end of the episode. Survivors Tara and Glenn have teamed up to go find Maggie and the rest of the survivors. Tara had just killed the last of a pack of zombies, saving an unconscious Glenn, when Abraham and his team, Eugene and Rosita, show up. "You got a damn mouth on you. You know that. What else you got?" Abraham’s closes out the episode with that line in regard to Tara’s fowl language and fierce zombie killing spree. These newly introduced characters will be an important group in the upcoming episodes of the show and fans are anxiously awaiting to see how it all plays out.
