The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons will host Saturday Night Live for the first time when the show returns on March 1. He will be joined by musical guest Beck, who has appeared on the show six times before since 1997 when Kevin Spacey hosted.
SNL is in a brief hiatus while NBC broadcasts the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. The last episode aired on February 1st with host Melissa McCarthy and musical guest Imagine Dragons, who were joined by Kendrick Lamar.
The announcement was made Thursday on SNL's Twitter.

Parsons has won three Emmy awards for playing theoretical physicist Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory.
Parsons was recently played by Jimmy Fallon in a Family Feud sketch when the new man behind the Tonight Show desk hosted in December with musical guest Justin Timberlake.
The show will also be the first for Colin Jost, who will join Cecily Strong on Weekend Update following Seth Meyers' departure.
Beck's new album Morning Phase is due out February 25th.
The Big Bang Theory will return February 20th on CBS.
