Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons is taking his turn as host of Saturday Night Live when the show returns on March 1.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that NBC announced on Thursday (Feb.13) that they have arranged to have Parsons for his first stint as host of SNL. The musical guest that will be joining Parsons will be Beck. Beck, whose new album Morning Phase, comes out on Feb. 25., will be making his seventh appearance on Saturday Night Live as a musical guest.

Broadway World reveals how Saturday Night Live is currently in it's 39th season on NBC. SNL won numerous awards over the years, including 40 Emmys, and has been honored twice in 1990 and 2009 with the distinguished George Foster Peabody Award. SNL premiered back on October 11, 1975 and shoots live out of the famous NBC Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center in New York. The show's executive producer is Lorne Michaels, who is also the show's creator has well.
