On Tuesday’s finale of The Biggest Loser, Rachel Frederickson turned heads with her 155-pound weight loss. She received criticism about being “too skinny” after the show aired, but is defending her weight loss and speaking against rumors of an eating disorder.
Frederickson, a former high school athlete, started the show off at 260 pounds. During the live finale, she weighed in at 155 pounds. She lost a total of 59.6% of her body weight, which sparked the attention of many, including trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper, who both looked shocked when she walked onto the stage for the first time.
In a press call on Wednesday, Frederickson said, “I eat five times a day and I eat 1600 calories. We are given a calorie budget and I stuck to that. I followed the advice and support of the medical team at The Biggest Loser the entire journey and I'm going to continue on the path and maintain the healthy lifestyle,” reports Tvguide.com.
Frederickson broke the record for losing the most amount of weight on the show and is now the all-time biggest loser, according to Yahoo.com. Despite the controversy surrounding her weight loss as being “unhealthy”, she is looking forward to the rest of her journey.
According to Upi.com, Frederickson said, “I was very enthusiastic about the finale and I'm really excited about my life here going into maintenance mode. I'm going to try new exercises and continue on this path and see where it takes me -- finding that balance!”
