Bill Murray worked with the late great Harold Ramis more times than almost anyone else and the comedy legend paid tribute to his friend with a short statement on Monday.
Murray, who can currently be seen in George Clooney’s The Monuments Men, issued a statement to Time Magazine on Monday, acknowledging the incredible films they made together.
“Harold Ramis and I together did the National Lampoon Show off Broadway, Meatballs, Stripes, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day,” Murray said through his lawyer. “He earned his keep on this planet. God bless him.”
Ramis died on Monday at 69, due to a rare disease called autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis. His talent was so widely beloved that even President Barack Obama paid tribute to him with a statement.
“Michelle and I were saddened to hear of the passing of Harold Ramis, one of America’s greatest satirists,” Obama said.
