Superstar couple Shakira and Gerard Piqué are both celebrating their birthday today.

Shakira, 37

Colombian singer-songwriter, dancer, record producer, choreographer, and model Shakira turns 37 today. After releasing two albums in the early 90s, Shakira didn't gain success in Latin America until the release of her third and fourth albums. With the release of her fifth album, Laundry Service, in 2001, Shakira gained U.S. success. Her single "Whenever, Wherever" became the best selling single of 2002. Her seventh studio album, Oral Fixation, Vol. 2, released in 2005, earned her another best selling single with "Hips Don't Lie." Her eighth and ninth studio albums suffered limited promotion due to her struggles with Epic Records.
In 2010, Shakira released "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" for the FIFA World Cup. It became the best selling World Cup song.

In her career, Shakira has won five MTV Video Music Awards, two Grammy Awards, eight Latin Grammy Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards, 28 Billboard Latin Music Awards, and has received a Golden Globe nomination. Shakira is currently promoting her self titled album, and has recently released the single featuring Rihanna, "Can't Remember to Forget You."

Gerard Piqué, 27

Spanish professional soccer player Gerard Piqué turns 27 today. Piqué started playing with FC Barcelona, and later joined Manchester United, but was too young at the time to sign a professional contract. Piqué made a debut with Manchester United in 2004, but only as a substitute. His full debut was in 2006. In 2008 he returned to Barcelona and signed a four year contract. In 2010 he extended his contract to 2015.

In 2010, Piqué met Shakira after he appeared in the music video for "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" music video. The two made their relationship public in 2012, and later announced that they were expecting their first child. Piqué and Shakira gave birth to their son, Milan Piqué Mebarak, on Sept. 22, 2013.
