Chris Brown and his bodyguard are being sued for a total of $3 million by a man named Parker Adams, who claims he was assaulted by them back in October.

According to Rolling Stone, the incident happened outside of the W Hotel in Washington D.C. Adams had asked to take a picture with Brown, to which he replied “I’m not down with that gay shit.”

The lawsuit states that Adams then tried getting into the picture Brown was taking with two of his friends, which was when he got punched by the singer and his bodyguard, Christopher Hollosy. Both Brown and Hollosy were arrested.

Adams suffered a fracture to his nose and other injuries to his head.

He is looking to obtain money to cover his medical bills which include a plastic surgeon and a breathing specialist. He is suing Brown and Hollosy each for $1 million, as well as another $500,000 each for punitive charges, reports The Associated Press.

Neither Brown nor Hollosy was present at the hearing on Thursday. Their trial will begin on April 17.
