In an attempt to create a skit about “Dumb Starbucks,” health inspectors Comedian Nathan Fielder his staff from serving coffee in a makeshift cafe in Los Angeles.
The sketch was supposed to be used in his Comedy Central show, “Nathan for You.” According to the Associated Press, Fielder said that he was pursuing the “American dream” in the comedy bit. “Dumb Starbucks” opened on Friday and gathered a crowd by using social media including Facebook and Twitter.
Anthony Solis, a resident in nearby Hollywood waited for two hours to get a cup of coffee, and said, "It was a pretty dumb idea to come out in the cold.”
Fielder and his staff were prepared to give fans coffee with descriptions that included “horrible” and “bitter.” The publicity stunt was shut down by Los Angeles County health inspectors. It seems Fielder and his team did not have a valid permit. According to The Hollywood Reporter, L.A. conceptual artist Marc Horowitz took credit for the prank.
In “Nathan For You,” Comedian Fielder uses his business degree to help businesses to make a profit. "Nathan For You" involves real people, and the show debuted on Comedy Central in 2013.
