Dale Earnhardt Jr. took the top prize at the Daytona 500 on Sunday.

This is the driver’s second win. According to ESPN, Earnhardt said, "Winning this race is the greatest feeling that you could feel in this sport besides accepting the trophy for the championship. I didn't know if I'd ever get the chance to feel it again and it feels just as good."

Earnhardt first won the Daytona 500 ten years ago. His triumphant return to NASCAR was well received by fans. The crowd cheered as Earnhardt ended the race in his No. 88 Chevrolet. His teammate, Jeff Gordon, was quick to offer words of support, saying that the “world was right” after Earnhardt won the race. Tough competitors Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin, Greg Biffle, and Carl Edwards also competed in the race.

The race took place on Sunday, Feb. 23. Chris Evans,better known as Marvel’s ‘Captain America’ served as the Grand Marshal this year. According to Fox, the sports network provided more than 80 hours of programming dedicated to the Daytona 500 and NASCAR.
