Danica Patrick is ready for the start of the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup season which gets kicked off Saturday night at the Sprint Unlimited race. Patrick’s ticket to the exhibition race came from winning the pole at last year’s Daytona 500.

Patrick will be racing against boyfriend, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. According to sportingnews Patrick said, “We were both talking about (that race) last night. I'm happy I'm in the Sprint Unlimited (and) happy he is too, because it's the both (of us on) the same schedule.”

Patrick will be one of only eighteen drivers to participate in the night race that kicks off at 8:35pm. The race does not award any points however the winner does win cash. It will be a good way to get some practice in while preparing for Daytona’s qualifying which takes place Sunday afternoon.

According to foxsports the cars for the Sprint Unlimited race are not the same cars that will be raced at next Sunday’s Daytona 500. So, drivers can confidently gain a feel for the track without worrying about damaging their car.
