Devin Logan wins silver medal for the U.S. in slopestyle skiing

Devin Logan took the silver medal on Tuesday in the women’s ski slopestyle final behind Canada’s Dara Howell.

USA Today noted that Howell finished with a score of 94.20, ahead of Logan’s score of 85.40. Howell’s Canadian teammate Kim Lammare’s finished with an 85.00 score to earn the bronze medal.

"Dara had the sickest run of the day. I'm so happy she was the one who beat me. She killed it," said Logan.

The Associated Press has pointed out that Canada has claimed seven medals in four days of snowboarding and freestyle skiing.

Kaya Turski, the Canadian skier who was the favorite to win the gold in this event only placed 19th on the scoreboard.

This was the first Olympics for the 20-year-old Logan who grew up in West Dover, Vt. and began skiing when she was just 2-years-old. She was the recipient of a silver medal in 2012 at the Winter X games in Aspen and now she can add Olympic silver to that.
