The Los Angeles Dodgers have a logjam in their outfield with four players that are skilled enough to be everyday starters. Matt Kemp, Carl Crawford, Andre Ethier and Yasiel Puig.
Kemp sat out the majority of the 2013 season, which paved the way for Puig, who made himself a National League Rookie of the Year candidate while the Dodgers made it to the National League Championship Series.
According to CBS Sports, Kemp will not accept a fourth outfielder role. General manager Ned Colletti agreed with Kemp's statement in an ESPN 710 interview, saying that he is not a fourth outfielder. However, he pointed out that depth through injuries is important for the Dodgers, so he will not commit to any trades right away.
The Dodgers are scheduled to play their opening game a week early in Australia, and Kemp will not likely be ready for Opening Day, according to ESPN.
Kemp has dealt with injuries since his 2011 season, which included 39 home runs, 126 runs batted in, a .324 batting average and 40 stolen bases. He is in the midst of an eight-year contract extension worth $160 million.
