Woody Allen’s op-ed published in The New York Times on Friday has sparked a response from his estranged daughter, Dylan Farrow.
In his piece, Allen defended himself against the claims of sexual abuse that his daughter made against him. According to The NY Daily News, Allen wrote that Dylan’s mother, Mia Farrow, lied to her and forced her to believe that she was sexually abused as a child.
Dylan Farrow spoke out against this, just hours after the piece was published. In a response to the Hollywood Reporter, she said, “Once again, Woody Allen is attacking me and my family in an effort to discredit and silence me - but nothing he says or writes can change the truth. For 20 years, I have never wavered in describing what he did to me. I will carry the memories of surviving these experiences for the rest of my life.”
Allen continues to deny the allegations that are being made against him, exclaiming that Dylan is being “exploited by her mother.”
Dylan also said in her statement to the Hollywood Reporter, “His op-ed is the latest rehash of the same legalese, distortions, and outright lies he has leveled at me for the past 20 years.”
