Tracy McGrady, former NBA star, is trying his luck with baseball. After retiring from basketball in 2013 McGrady became part owner of a baseball team that will debut in 2015.
McGrady, 34, acquired a team in an independent league that will play in Biloxi, Mississippi. But, owning the team may not be the only role he fills. Rumors have been flying that McGrady actually wants to pitch for the new team.
His outspoken love for baseball has sparked these recent rumors. According to foxsports McGrady said, "I love baseball. That was my first love; even to this day I love baseball more than I love basketball."
Whether or not McGrady will pitch for the team is unknown but, it has been reported that he is working out. According to cbssports ESPN commentator Jeff Van Gundy commented about the situation saying, “I think he's going to play independent league baseball as a pitcher this year, I'm being serious. I've heard from sources in Houston — seriously — that he's throwing over 90 miles per hour.”
