On Monday, Seth Myers has called for Fred Armisen to be his Late Night Bandleader for his upcoming show. Armisen and Myers starred in Saturday Night Live together before Armisen left in the summer of 2013.

Myers is the newest Late night talk show host to be added to the lineup of talk shows. Since 2001, Myers was a cast member of SNL. In April, we reported that he would be leaving the show as he readied to begin his new show: Late Night With Seth Myers.
Late Night will begin its run on Feb. 24 with Myers as the host as he takes over Jimmy Fallon’s previous hosting duties. Fallon will take over The Tonight Show where he will replace Jay Leno as the host.
Armisen left SNL to focus his work on Portlandia, a show he co-created. Apart from being a successful actor and comedian, he also knows music. The Examiner reported that he has been playing the drums for over 20 years, so he is no stranger to performing. The 8G Band, as it will be called for the show, will play on every episode.
