As if the cast of Game of Thrones couldn’t get any bigger, the producers are now giving expanded roles to stars who already appear on the show. Nathalie Emmanuel, whose character became Daenerys Targaryen’ translator in season three, will be promoted to series regular for the show’s fifth season. She’ll remain a recurring player for the upcoming fourth season, though.

Emmanuel’s character, Missandei, started out as a slave, but she has become a trusted adviser for Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys. As Entertainment Weekly notes, the official description for Missandei reveals that she will rise to become a “confidant and trusted adviser” to the Mother of Dragons.

According to Deadline, Emmanuel isn’t the only star that HBO has signed for a regular role on the show’s fifth season, if it has one. Recurring actor Michael Huisman, who appeared in Treme, was also promoted.

Game of Thrones’ fourth season will have a whopping 29 regular characters and with only 10 episodes per season, there’s a strong chance that not all will appear in every episode. The show’s fourth season kicks off on April 6 and if it draws ratings similar to season three's, it will likely get a fifth season.

The show is based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels.
