The lead role in the How I Met Your Mother spin off How I Met Your Dad has been casted and Greta Gerwig who will be playing
Sally, in the upcoming spin off.
Gerwig will not only be staring in the upcoming project but is set to get a producer credit. If the show is picked up by CBS Gerwig will also be writing for How I Met Your Dad, Variety reported.
20th Century Fox TV will be producing the spinoff and this will feature a new set of characters and will have a brand new story line, not based upon How I Met Your Mother.
Carter Bays, Craig Thomas and executive producer Emily Spivey are working on the pilot script for How I Met Your Dad, which will tell the story of Sally who is very close to breaking up with her husband after less than one year of marriage, The Hollywood Reporter added.
Gerwig's work include To Rome With Love, Lola Versus, Arthur and Northern Comfort. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe for her work as a lead actress in a comedy in Frances Ha.
