The production team behind Netflix's House of Cards have announced that they won't film again in Maryland unless they are given more tax credits, though they didn't specify how much more they want.

Media Rights Capital is threatening to pull up stakes and leave, having already halted production plans, reports Reuters. Production on the third season was set to begin in the spring.

Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley's rep confirmed that the production company was threatening to move to elsewhere to produce House of Cards. Media Rights Capital released their announcement in a letter and said that is all they have to say publicly on the matter.

The letter was posted online by The Washington Post. In it, Media Rights Capital notes if it doesn't get more tax breaks, they will "break down our stage, sets and offices and set up in another state."

Maryland has been quite friendly towards production companies that choose to film in the state, with $40 million in tax credits so far. Media Rights Capital has been the biggest beneficiary.

"This just keeps getting bigger and bigger," Delegate Eric G. Luedtke said. "And my question is: When does it stop?"

The popular Netflix show has helped the state, according to economic development officials. Since the show has been film in Maryland, it has created almost 6,000 jobs and the state has seen about a $250,000 boost to the economy.
