Cristin Milioti, who movie fans saw as the suffering first wife in The Wolf of Wall Street and is now The Mother in How I Met Your Mother, will star in an NBC comedy pilot executive produced by Rashida Jones.
The pilot is still titled A To Z and landed at NBC in September 2013. Jones is executive producing with her Celeste & Jesse Forever collaborator Will McCormack. It is being written by Cars 2 writer Ben Queen, who is also co-executive producing. The show is being developed as a single-camera comedy.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Milioti is playing Zelda, a public advocacy lawyer who has a realistic outlook on life. She believes in having her entire life planned out beforehand and is super serious, although she does apparently have a funny bone in there somewhere.
TheWrap reports that this is a Warner Bros. Television and Le Train Train co-production.
Milioti got the role of The Mother in HIMYM, making her first appearance in the eighth season finale and is now a regular on the show, although she has only made a few appearances in the final season. She did get a showcase episode a few weeks ago, though. She did appear in The Sopranos and was Jordan Belfort’s first wife in The Wolf of Wall Street.
As for Jones, she just left Parks and Recreation. Although she is busy behind the camera, she did agree to star in Steve Carell's TBS pilot Tribeca.
